Call for Participation

The Pattern Recognition and Image Processing (PRIP) Group of the Vienna University of Technology and the Austrian Computer Society (OCG) invites speakers and guests to the Coin Recognition Workshop in Vienna, Austria, August 27th, 2008.

The main aim of this workshop is to create a forum for discussions between the numismatic and the computer vision research community. Our main mission is to establish new technical tools for experts in the numismatic field. Topics may focus on, but are not limited to, areas such as: image processing methods for the recognition of ancient coin, feasability of computer aided coin recognition and comparison between manual and computer-aided coin recognition. The focus will be on both applied work as well as theoretical advances.
