Shape Representation - The Eccentricity Transform

Preliminary results and main properties of this novel transform are presented in [KIHF06]. Like the distance transform, it associates a value to every point inside a shape. It is robust against noise and articulated motion and outlines important points on the boundary (eccentric points). It falls in the category of path-based approaches among which the popular graph spectral methods can be found. The previous properties show its suitability for shape representation and matching.
