2004-2006 President of the International Association for Pattern Recognition
2000-2007 Kplus Competence Center on 'Advanced Computer Vision'
Since 1990 Full Professor and director of PRIP (Pattern Recognition and Image Processing) at Vienna University of Technology. Currently the group has 20 staff members of which more than 60% are financed by non-University funds .
