CALL FOR PAPERS and CALL FOR SPECIAL SESSIONS (WORKSHOPS)Paper submission deadline (extended) : April 7th, 2006 The Pattern Recognition and Image Processing (PRIP) Group of the Vienna University of Technology and the Austrian Computer Society (OCG) invites authors and guests to the 1st EVA conference in Vienna, Austria, August 27th - August 30th, 2006. The main aim of this first EVA Event in Vienna is to create a forum for discussions between the cultural heritage research community, technology researchers and cultural institutions. Our main mission is to establish new technical tools for experts in the cultural heritage field. The accompanying motto of this conference is "Digital Cultural Heritage - Essential for Tourism". The conference will focus on image analysis, cultural tourism, speech and communication in cultural heritage, archaeography, and museum and archaeological applications. The focus will be on both applied work as well as theoretical advances.Topics of InterestsTopics include, but are not limited to:
Workshop ProposalsEVA Vienna 2006 provides the option to hold workshops on additional
topics. Workshops will be held on Sunday, August 27th, 2006 and Wednesday,
August 30th, 2006. Proposals for workshops must include a title, an
outline of the workshop and its motivation, contact information for
the organizer, and a short description of the material to be covered.
Proposals for workshops should be submitted to Robert Sablatnig (sab[at]prip.tuwien.ac.at) before February 28th, 2006.
