Eccentricity transform

The Eccentricity transform (ECC) of a shape assigns to each point the length of the shortest geodesics to the points farthest away from it. We showed that it is quasi-invariant to articu-lated motion and robust against salt and pepper noise (which creates holes in the shape) [10]. This transform was used to develop a coordinate system for point correspondences of 2D articulated shapes [34,33,35,54,53] and to match 2D and 3D shapes [18,32,52].
