Multiview Integration by Topological Completion

We worked on a concept for describing multiple views of a 3D object by a 2D manifold represented by a graph pyramid. When new object parts become visible, the object representation is extended/updated by topological completion [56] (see publications) to integrate the new visible patches of the object surface (see Figure 1). Figure 2 illustrates the concept of topological completion. There is also an initial concept on how to expand the graph pyramid representing the manifold to describe different scales of an object (e.g. add new details observed from an approaching object, see Figure 3) [56] (see publications).
